I'm headed up to Portland for a week in mid-September and was wondering if there are any recommended stores that I should check out.
Thanks!

Re: Portland Thrift Stores
Fri, August 22, 2008 - 9:22 PMWe are big on Goodwills up here, there are quite a few of them spread out over the city:

A cute little place for craft-y stuff:

If you like vintage clothing, check out the listings in the yellow pages when you get up here. Prices here are probably lower than you're used to paying in San Francisco. Not thrift stores, but a couple of places to go if you liked used books are Powell's ("City of Books") downtown on Burnside, and The Title Wave on NE Knott just off MLK Jr. Blvd, which is run by the Multnomah County Library.
Happy thrifting!
